The Air Jordan 1 Mid Banned 2020 takes the classic Banned colorway of the high-top Jordan 1 and applies it to the mid-cut sneaker. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Banned 2020 features a full-grain black and red leather upper. Similar to the original Air Jordan 1 Banned, it features red leather detailing on the toe, collar, heel, and Swoosh. The only difference from the original Banned colorway is the red leather around the eyelets. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Banned (2020) will be released in November 2021. While certainly not as popular as its high-top counterpart, the Air Jordan 1 Mid has achieved remarkable success through close imitation-its releases often reference pre-existing celebrities dating back to 1985. The latest homage to the silhouette, which is very close to being identical without being a 1:1 replica, utilizes the popular and universally infamous “Banned” colorway as the latest example. While the pair is an exact replica of its inspiration, it makes noticeable, albeit few, changes to the overall template. The toe boxes, ankle tabs, heel counters, and even the treads receive the bold red as expected, but now the eyestays are recolored to match. Adjacent black laces and tongues lead to contrasting Jumpman insignia, bringing the execution back on track in terms of familiarity. Toe caps, midsole panels, and the Wings logo on the side follow suit, completing the most accessible “Bred” Jordan 1 yet.
