The Air Jordan 1 Mid Chicago 2020 is a mid-top sneaker featuring the original Chicago colorway of the Jordan Brand’s first shoe, the 1985 Air Jordan 1. This sneaker features a white leather base with crimson leather overlays and a black ankle collar. It also features a classic black Swoosh, a white midsole with cushioning for comfort, and an improved rubber outsole for traction. It’s worth mentioning that this shoe features perforations on the toe cap for breathability. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Chicago 2020 was released on July 16, 2020. The Air Jordan 1 Mid Chicago, previously unveiled in kids’ sizes, was recently confirmed for adults via official images. While the pair doesn’t feature a faithful recreation of the beloved original color scheme of the Jordan 1 (whose value skyrocketed during ESPN’s after-market series “The Last Dance”), it delivers one of the best heritage-inspired arrangements of mid-top silhouettes in recent memory. Quilted panels, iridescent profile Swooshes, and other experimental accents have been eschewed in favor of a standard leather construction dressed in the “Chicago”-esque “White/Gym Red/Black” color palette. The rich scarlet hue carries over most of the signature overlays from the first Air Jordan, while the lateral logos and collars are rendered in the darkest shade of the trio. Similar to the 2013 Jordan 1 High “Chicago,” the tongues feature Jumpman logos (although their color scheme is reversed). However, the heels not only forgo any branding but also feature a “White” bottom instead of a “Gym Red” overlay. Underfoot, the sole units remain true to the arrangement of the 1985 “Chicago” colorway.
