Jordan Brand pays tribute to the world’s fashion capital with the Jordan 1 Mid Milan, available now at . This release is inspired by the city’s architectural aura and attention to detail. This silhouette features a mix of premium materials, including canvas, suede, and tumbled leather.
This Jordan 1 Mid features a multi-panel upper with a range of warm hues. An embossed tongue label, a special leather “MLN” hangtag, and a tan outsole complete the design. These sneakers were released in February 2020.
Most people don’t think about it too often, but a handful of Michael Jordan’s footwear options feature a unique connection to Italian influence. Several of his AJ 14s are strongly associated with his love of Italian-made Ferrari automobiles, as are his coveted “Shattered Backboard” AJ 1 versions, which were originally inspired by a tomahawk slam dunk performed during a 1985 exhibition game in Trieste, Italy. And now it looks like the characteristics of the European country are once again being brought to the forefront, as the city of Milan serves as the main source of inspiration for this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid.
This upcoming colorway translates aspects of the architectural essence of the Italian region, incorporating various materials from leather, suede, and canvas that comprise the upper. Each panel alternates in various shades from bone white to beige to darker caramel, all of which evoke a strong resemblance to the hues and design elements found in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Duomo di Milano and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Additionally, a leather tag with the inscription “MLN” hangs on the right side of the sidewall as a direct reference to the elegant city.
