Jordan Brand gives the Air Jordan 1 a washed-out look with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Washed Black.

The Jordan 1 Retro High OG Washed Black features white leather and a washed-black upper. Gray accents are placed around the collar, while the sail-colored midsole gives the sneaker an aged design. The limited-edition Air Jordan 1s are tied with white laces and feature a white Air Jordan Wings logo above the Swoosh.

So far, 2023 is shaping up to be a good year in terms of sneaker releases. In addition to the return of the Air Jordan 1 “Black/White,” this year will also see several new colorways of the Peter Moore-designed icon. And after leaking just months ago, one of them—the “Washed Black”—is now appearing in the hands of previous buyers.

The Air Jordan 1 “Washed Black,” as its namesake suggests, is partially comprised of color-faded elements. These are mainly limited to the overlays, whose black tone has weathered to a dark gray. The base and Wings logo, both in a neutral white, are much more pristine in comparison, while the midsole, with its cream-colored finish, simulates age.

First teased via a mock-up in early September 2022, the Air Jordan 1 “Washed Black” is slated for release on June 10.

As the sneaker’s unofficial name suggests, the upper of the retro model is covered in faded black suede, further enhancing the off-court appeal of the Air Jordan line. The gray-inspired hue is contrasted by all-white base layers and a light gray hue on the collars. A bold red flair comes into play with the traditional “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue. Underfoot, the often-imitated sole unit features a cream-colored midsole, contributing to the Jordan 1’s “vintage” aesthetic; the outsole features a tried-and-true black finish.
