Jordan Brand celebrated Air Max Month with the release of the Jordan 4 SE Neon, now available on StockX. This colorway is heavily inspired by the original Air Max 95 Neon.
This Jordan 4 features a tonal gray upper with white mesh underlays and neon details. A two-tone Jordan Flight patch on the tongue, a black sole, and patterned laces complete the design. These sneakers launched in March 2020 and retailed for $225.
The Air Jordan 4 Neon (Air Max 95 Neon) is a new iteration of the silhouette that pays homage to another classic Nike silhouette. As mentioned, this AJ 4 is inspired by the legendary Air Max 95 “Neon” edition. The AJ 4 mimics the runner’s OG colorway, draped in a combination of Cool Grey, Volt, Wolf Grey, and Anthracite tones, while also featuring the same material composition with suede panels and mesh accents on the upper. Finally, the distinct Volt accent can be seen on the eyelets, tongue labels, and outsole to round it all out.
After returning in the “Black Cat” colorway early last month, the Air Jordan 4 has been relatively quiet in the grand scheme of releases, only releasing a series of PEs inspired by the Jordan Brand school family. Now, however, after a series of early leaks from insiders, the silhouette’s Air Max 95 homage finally appears in more detail and with a design that closely resembles the original “Neon” scheme. And its departure isn’t just a color change; Rather, it even embodies the combination of materials, as it is constructed almost entirely from suede—the lateral cages likely replace the mesh of its muse. While the gradient isn’t as pronounced as originally, it’s still represented by contrasting color blocks, as the toe caps are dark-colored and the rest is much lighter. Eye-stay molds and heel tabs complement each other, with the latter emphasizing “Nike Air,” while accents along the tongue flap and eye stabs round out the references with the titular volt green.
