Born and raised in Harlem, Teyana Taylor is a true multi-talented artist, dabbling in everything from singing and acting to dancing and choreography. And now, for 2023, Taylor will add another major achievement to her resume: her very own collaboration with Jordan Brand.
First unveiled earlier this year, the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT “A Rose From Harlem” pays homage to Taylor’s roots and her 2018 album “Rose in Harlem.” From “Gym Red” used throughout the colorway to the “A ROSE FROM HARLEM” text hidden on the back of the ankle flaps, the design makes several overt references to its overarching themes. Even the Swooshes—which dress the left and right pairs in two different colors and sizes—are likened to a rose with their thorn-inspired embroidery and zigzag stitching.
