The Jordan 1 Mid SE Multi-Color shoe served as the unofficial successor to Nike’s colorful “Fearless Ones” collection. Instead of bold primary colors, this sneaker features cheerful spring colors and soft pastels. Nike has featured this shoe as a women’s exclusive on its SNKRS website.
Black laces and accents balance the colors, while the white upper creates a blank canvas for the collage. Red stitching on the side gives the sneaker a handcrafted look. The Jordan 1 Mid SE Multi-Color may have a modern flair, but the classic Jumpman and Air Jordan logos are still visible on the tongue and overlays.
The Jordan 1 Mid SE Multi-Color reps (W) was released in April 2020.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid has become a staple of current releases despite the greater popularity of its high-top alternative, offering a wide range of new colorways and new finishes. Presumably thanks to the “Fearless Ones,” the silhouette has significantly stood out compared to the aforementioned, with pairs like the Melody Ehsani collaboration fetching high volumes on the resale market.
And as its popularity continues to grow, Jordan Brand has reportedly used it as inspiration for this GR, whose color-blocking achieves a nearly identical format. Each panel—from the toe cap to the eye rest—is colored in unique hues, with Volt Green suede adorning the former and Patent Blue the latter. Elsewhere, orange accentuates the topline alongside the mustard yellow hues directly below, providing a stark contrast to the purple adorning the ankle flaps. The Wings insignia is similarly black to that of the Swoosh, but the latter adds further embellishment, as its overlay is adorned with bright red stitching. Get a detailed look here, and find out that it’s slated for release on April 9th at Nike.com and select retailers.
While the high-top version of the Air Jordan 1 garnered a lot of attention, its mid-cut counterpart has increasingly come into focus over the past two years – perhaps best demonstrated by last season’s “Fearless Ones” collection. A recently announced women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid, slated for release later this year in both understated and bold guises, adds another addition to the silhouette’s experimental catalog, featuring multicolored blocking reminiscent of Melody Ehsani’s AJ1.
The clean combination of a cream midsole and black outsole sets the stage for the mix of neon, purple, and orange that fills key areas like the mudguard, eyestays, and ankle area. As if the color palette wasn’t vibrant enough in its current form, yellow hues are added to the mix on the heel and tongue, while a bold blue adorns the patent-leather-look lacing structure that’s wedged right into the midfoot. The profile Swooshes also add interest, as they also receive a glossy finish and are held together by red zigzag stitching. Similar to Ehsani, the white leather toe cap and midfoot appear to have a certain semblance of order.
