The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Royal Black Toe draws inspiration from some of Jordan Brand’s most iconic colorways to create a new look. The design slightly resembles the Union LA Jordan 1 with its reconstructed embossing around the ankle.
The upper of the Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Royal Black Toe features a white leather base with black nylon panels and Swooshes. Gray, black, blue, and white are also prominent in the overlays, contrast stitching, and iconography of the shoes. A concentric outsole for enhanced traction and an Air midsole complete the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Union Royal was released in July 2020.
Even though “Back to School” has now become “Back to Zoom,” Jordan Brand remains relatively hopeful and is planning a series of notable releases, from the Air Jordan 3 to the Air Jordan 1 Mid. And while the latter isn’t quite as prolific as to warrant a spot in the Jordan Fall 2020 preview, it has seen a handful of strong colorways, including this UNION LA-inspired flip.
Unlike the much more authentic pair previously unveiled, this iteration utilizes an equally notable traditional hue: royal. As such, each once-red overlay now receives a blue coat—the Wings iconography, contrast stitching, and Jumpman branding follow suit. White leather then blends well with the base, blending in with black nylon Swooshes and paneling. Furthermore, the collar gives in to its inspiration by being adorned with vintage-style pilling.
