The Air Jordan 1 is the shoe that started it all. A legendary shoe inextricably linked to a legendary basketball player, it was released in 1985, right at the end of Michael Jordan’s rookie year. Designer Peter Moore was told to create something “different” and “exciting,” and he certainly delivered, launching a shoe dynasty. Retro versions like the Air Jordan 1 Mid White Shadow have enjoyed widespread popularity ever since.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid White Shadow is a mid-top shoe available in a special colorway that tastefully blends black, white, and gray. A true blast from the past, it utilizes the shadow design of the original Air Jordan 1. It features a black leather midsole, a cool gray leather Swoosh that’s slightly lighter than the Swoosh on the original Jordan 1, and a stylish white collar and heel that also contribute to maximum comfort. A perforated white leather toe cap, black leather toe cap, lower eyelets, and a white Jumpman logo on the white leather tongue complete the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid White Shadow was released in October 2020.
While the Air Jordan 1 Mid lives on as a reliable option for those who can’t afford the 1 High OG model, it’s also been a testing ground for colorways, as we’ve seen a number of styles mimicking the original colorways in seemingly endless iterations. How many Air Jordan 1 Mid “Chicago” iterations have we seen? Not enough, according to consumer demand. Joining this fray is this black/mid gray and white style, which quickly reminds us of the original “Shadow” from 1985, but with a significant addition of white on the toe box, lace collar, ankle, and heel.
