Jordan Brand continued its black-toe design theme in 2020 with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Dark Mocha, which is now available at . The Dark Mocha 1 was one of the most anticipated releases of 2020, as its familiar color-blocking design nodded at two of the greatest Jordan 1s of all time: the Jordan 1 Travis Scott and the Jordan 1 Black Toe.
The upper of the Jordan 1 High Dark Mocha features a sail leather base with black leather around the toe box and mocha suede on the heel and ankle. A black leather Swoosh, a Jordan Wings logo on the ankle, and Nike Air branding on the tongue pay homage to the branding found on the original 1985 Jordan 1. A sail midsole and black outsole complete this black-toe design.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High Dark Mocha was released in October 2020.
First rumored in November 2019, the Air Jordan 1 High Dark Mocha was officially announced by Jordan Brand as part of its Holiday 2020 collection.
Early models showcased the pair in a simpler, two-tone colorway, but a first look at the Jordan 1 Retro revealed a familiar, beloved arrangement in the silhouette’s history. “Black” genuine nubuck leather on the forefoot and along the tongue nods to the model’s debut year. The underlays throughout feature a “Sail” hue, seen on some of the year’s hottest Jordans, while the ankle tabs and lower heel area feature the titular “Dark Mocha” hue, instantly drawing comparisons to Travis Scott’s 2019 collaboration. Underfoot, the sole units forgo the brown hue in favor of a combination of a cream midsole and “black” outsole.
The Jordan 1 Dark Mocha is reportedly set to launch on October 31st via Nike SNKRS in men’s and grade school sizes. Until then, enjoy another look at the pair below.
