Air Jordan 4 Military Black (Black)

Jordan Brand has reverse-engineered one of its original Air Jordan 4 colorways for the Air Jordan 4 Military Black.

Borrowing from the color-blocking style of the Air Jordan 4 Military Blue, the Air Jordan 4 Military Black features a smooth white leather upper with a light gray Durabuck toe wrap and mesh-like TPU inserts. Military black eyelets, heel tabs, and underlays provide a stark contrast to the upper. At the base, a white, black, and light gray sole with a visible Air unit completes the design.

The Air Jordan 4 Military Black will be released in May 2022.

It seems like we’re getting further and further away from the return of the Air Jordan 4 Military Blue, but Jordan Brand is still keeping spirits high with an impressive and extensive collection of Air Jordan 4 retro shoes. This upcoming Military Black is almost cruel considering how close it is to the original 1989 blue, but despite the branding dangling from this long-awaited reissue, they’re quite a consolation.

This upcoming June release is called Military Black because it features the exact same color blocking as Military Blue. That signature hue is replaced with black on the midsole, heel clip, and eyelets, as well as on the tongue logo, inner tongue, and inner base beneath the mesh. These branding photos also show a similar density of suede on the toe cap. These are certainly a clean addition to any summer rotation, but we can also imagine what a Jordan 4 Military Blue would look like in terms of quality.

As the namesake suggests, the colorway is a slight remix of the popular Military Blue, with the cool tone replaced with the aforementioned neutral. The color blocking is expected to be identical to the original, based on the available model. Aside from the darkened accents—i.e., heel tab, foxing, and support wings—the base should feel familiar, with white mesh and leather sitting alongside light gray overlays, lining, and outsoles.

These are currently slated to land in full family sizing in Summer 2022. For now, stay tuned while we await more details.
