The Air Jordan 4 Red Thunder follows a similar color-blocking scheme to the Air Jordan 4 Thunder and features an all-black Durabuck upper with red mesh underlays and eyelets. A signature Air Jordan Flight patch is sewn on the tongue. A bright red midsole and Jumpman heel tab complete the retro design.
The Air Jordan 4 Red Thunder will be released in January 2022.
2021 is getting more exciting by the day, with a high number of notable releases. And while the Air Jordan 1 reigned supreme for so long, the Air Jordan 4 is the one being relied upon this season. Upcoming models include the “Red Thunder,” releasing this October and a reinterpretation of a previous classic.
But unlike its inspiration, the colorway doesn’t include any yellow at all. Instead, as the namesake suggests, red takes the lead, appearing under the mesh as well as on the midsole, support wings, and inside of the tongue. Elsewhere, black nubuck fills in the gaps, further tying the pair to its 2006 counterpart.
First rumored in late February that the Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” had finally surfaced in official images, suggesting a release date is fast approaching.
Featuring the same iconic color-block design as the 2006 model’s “Thunder” colorway, the upcoming sneakers continue Air Jordan’s legacy for the next 30 years with a classic, Chicago Bulls-friendly color palette. The nubuck construction across most of the upper features an all-dark makeup, allowing red accents in the midfoot and tongue to take center stage. Molded eyelets and midsole details underfoot follow suit. Unsurprisingly, the pair forgoes the “NIKE AIR” logo on the back, opting instead for a light gray Jumpman. Most of the outsole is a pitch-black shade, although some tread and branding elements prevent it from having a cohesive look.
