Jordan Brand pays homage to one of its earliest color themes with the now-available Jordan 4 Retro Metallic Red.
In 1985, the Air Jordan 1 was the first in its line to receive the “Metallic” treatment. Initially, four metallic colorways were released—including red, orange, purple, and green. This release is inspired by the color blocking of the Jordan 1 Metallic Red.
This Jordan 4 features a white leather upper with white mesh underlays and metallic red details on the upper eyelets. A metallic red Jumpman logo on the heel, a white sole, and a metallic red Air bubble complete the design. These sneakers were released in May 2020.
The Air Jordan 4 “Red Metallic” is another variation of the classic silhouette, also complementing the “Court Purple” edition. This AJ 4 boasts a perfect summer aesthetic with its white leather upper and signature red hue that pops on the metallic eyelets, Jumpman branding, and lining behind the tongue. Finally, a matching white rubber sole completes the understated style.
The Michael Jordan craze has reached an even higher peak, as yesterday’s premiere of the highly anticipated ESPN documentary “The Last Dance” led to exciting Twitter trends and website crashes on the sneaker resale platform StockX. And with this opportunity for newer generations to learn more about the greatest player to ever step foot on the hardwood, there’s a chance that kids around the world are craving his kicks more than ever. Thankfully, a release featuring the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Metallic Red” is coming soon. Part of the Jumpman’s Summer line, this retro version maintains a clean tone and uses minimalist Chicago-style color blocking across an angelic white leather upper, paired with subtle red accents on the lace cages, tongues, Jumpman heel badge, and Air units at the bottom.
